A Thank You To Zach Moore

3 Mar

This post is long overdue, but I wanted to publicly thank Zach Moore for providing me some great training ideas while Carlos was rehabbing his wrist injury.  Zach was interning at IFAST when I visited last summer and now is a full-time staff member.  His insights and perspective were invaluable when designing my plan of attack for Carlos.  Zach also took some time out of his busy schedule after I visited to film his setup on a few lifts.  This made a huge difference in preparing Carlos to return to work.  Thanks Zach – this industry is lucky to have you!

Be sure to check out his blog.  Here are some videos of Zach in action:

What an amazing kid. Love your spirit. And just think, other people actually make excuses.

Agreed – Zach is totally inspirational!

Always inspiring to see what someone can do when they simply refuse to quit and never give in to what society says “you’ll never be able to do….”

Thanks Andy! Great way to start the day

Very disappointed to hear that you are leaving the Paleo Solution podcast with Robb Wolf. I am big time bummed out about that.

Have to be honest it was a bit surreal not hearing you on the podcast today.

Look forward to great things over here!

    Andy,

Enjoy your time off. You maybe don’t realize how many of us lurk and never connect to say thanks, but you have created a lot of goodwill with your generosity to the community.

    All the best!

    Dan

Thanks Dan! That means a lot.

Awwww Andrew! WTF – no more musical intro to the podcast and no more mispronounced words? You added comic relief to the geekness of food science! We’ll miss you ~

    • Andy Deas March 9, 2011 at 1:51 pm #

Thanks Mark! I’ll still be around the web and we will definitely do dinner next time I’m in Indy.

long time lurker, 1st time poster. missed hearing you tuesday. change happens. change is often necessary. as a physical therapist, i appreciate, at least some, of the monetary and time constraints of personal training.

but the question that has brought me out of lurker-dom is: wtf happened to my internet / podcast friend andy?

    • Andy Deas March 11, 2011 at 11:01 am #

Chris – thanks for the support. As you said change is often necessary and it is time for me to move on to work on other things. I will miss doing the podcast for sure!

I am so bummed out that you are not on the podcast anymore. You always sounded like you were in a great mood — which really made it fun to listen.

    • Andy Deas March 11, 2011 at 10:59 am #

      Thanks Matt!

Hey Andy. I was surprised not to hear your voice on the podcast. I will miss all you spontaneous input. You guys helped me change my views about the food choices I was making. At least we still have you here.

    • Andy Deas March 11, 2011 at 10:58 am #

Thanks Andrea! Lots to come on the blog, but time to do move on from the podcast.

  12. andrew March 11, 2011 at 11:04 am #

I assume something happened, as you didn’t announce this on the previous podcast (unless I missed it at the end or something, i was listening to it on the train), and I’m guessing you didn’t hand off the theme music to Robb. Anything we should know about?

    • Andy Deas March 21, 2011 at 5:45 pm #

Not really – just time to move on.

Andy, just wanted to say that you did an awesome job on the podcast. I particularly enjoyed your no nonsense approach, great positivity, attitude to life and whacky sense of humour. You will be sorely missed by many. Anyway its onward and upward, hope its stellar! Will be following you on here .

    • Andy Deas March 21, 2011 at 5:45 pm #

Thanks Bridget! I appreciate the support.

A note of thanks to you, Andy, for your part in ushering in a new shift in the way I view what goes into the ol’ pie hole. Enjoyed listening to you on the podcast and will now start checking out the blog. All the best.

    • Andy Deas March 21, 2011 at 5:45 pm #

Thanks Michael – I’m glad you enjoyed the podcast!

  15. Sam March 21, 2011 at 5:13 am #

I am really bummed that you are not doing the podcast with Robb; it seems fraudulent that Greg E. has already been using the 6 listeners joke, which you loathed. Good luck with your blog and other endeavors

    • Andy Deas March 21, 2011 at 5:41 pm #

      Thanks Sam! I appreciate it.

  16. Jaska March 25, 2011 at 1:22 am #

Hey Andy. I’m sad you’re not doing the podcast anymore. I really enjoyed listening to you and Robb and you definitely provided great input and brought a good, happy atmosphere to the show. Plus I had just sent a podcast question with a silly handle and some stupid repetitive jokes that I though you might have enjoyed/got annoyed of! Take care and please keep updating the blog with more quality stuff!

  17. Chris March 25, 2011 at 5:18 pm #

Whaaat? No Andy on the podcast? (howl of 6 listeners in Wookie rage) Oh well, onward and upward! Looking forward to what you’ve got planned next, Andy. Thank you for all your valuable input and humor.

    Hey Andy,
Any idea when you are gonna start blogging again? I miss your day to day insights!
Hope all is well, your friend Jimmy!

    • Andy Deas May 2, 2011 at 12:46 pm #

I’m slowly but surely writing some stuff – updates soon!

  19. Raj Ganpath April 1, 2011 at 9:48 pm #

    Hey Andy,
This kid is definitely a HUGE inspiration. I write so much about how training can be simple and eating right is easy… and people still tend to “fall off the wagon” and they have their excuses! Thank you so much for featuring him in the blog. I am definitely writing a blog post about him soon.

And yes sir… definitely miss you on the podcast! Hope all is well… will be visiting the blog very regularly!
